Curriculum for the week of February 20th
​Reading: Students will evaluate primary and secondary sources. We will focus on sources associated with Jim Crow laws and segregation.
LA: Students will evaluate facts and begin writing persuasive paper.
Social Studies: We will continue chapter 7. Students will also continue Stock Market game.
Religion: We will continue chpater 7. We will also discuss the importance of Lent.
Spelling: Unit 22

Curriculum for the week of February 13th
Reading: Students will continue presentations on the novel Now is Your Time.
LA: We will continue to discuss persuasive writing and finish lesson on verbs.
Social Studies: We will begin chapter 7-Changes for the Jewish People. We will also begin the Stock Market game.
Religion: We will begin chapter 7-Commanment and Fulfillment. 
Spelling: Unit 21

Curriculum for the week of February 6th
​Reading: Students are jigsawing the novel Now is Your Time.
LA: Students will work with debate group. We will also look at being verbs, linking verbs, and simple verb tenses.
Social Studies: We will finish chapter 6-Origins of Judaism. Test Thursday.
Religion: We will finish chapter 6. Test Friday.
Spelling: Unit 20

Curriculum for the week of January 30th
​Reading: We will finish The Watsons Go to Birmingham. Students will have a quiz and test this week.
LA: We will continue persuasive writing and discuss debate topics.
Social Studies: We will continue chapter 6-Origins of Judaism.
Religion: We will continue chapter 6.

Religion: We will finish reading unit two in their Family Life series.

Social Studies: We will continue to read chapter 1-The World's Early People.
Religion: We will contine to read chapter 1-Revelation and Response.

English: We will discuss listening and speaking skills. We will also look at different types of sentences.
Social Studies: We will continue to work on text skills. 
Religion: We will discuss individual gifts and the Beatitudes.

Curriculum for the week of August 22, 2011
Reading: ​We will discuss different genres of literature.
English: The students will practice their writing skills. They will create a letter that describes their interests, likes, dislikes, family, etc. The final draft is due September 2nd.
Social Studies: We will work on text skills including using the table of contents, glossary, reference page, etc.
Religion: We will discuss what it means to be a good St. Giles students, review the "I Will Code," and go over rules in church.
Spelling: Starts next week.
