To improve the quality and timeliness of Interscholastic sporting schedules, we have expanded the calendar feature on our school Web Site. Below is a quick explanation of the new calendar functionality.
First, we are developing a total of 8 unique calendars-one for each grade and then further broken down between boys and girls; e.g. 5th Grade Boys, 5th Grade Girls, 6th Grade Boys, 6th Grade Girls, etc. This calendar will be inclusive of all sports for that grade and gender. Meaning, the 7th Grade Girls calendar will include the information for Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball schedules. These calendars can be found by going to the Interscholastic calendar and then using the pull down menu to navigate to the calendar you seek.
Second, parents will be able to subscribe to an individual calendar(s) thereby receiving an email whenever there is an update to it. For example, if a parent subscribes to the 6th Grade Boys calendar and the Soccer schedules is changed, the parent will receive an email alert with the update. To subscribe to the calendar, go to the web site and navigate to the calendar to which you wish to subscribe. In the upper right hand corner of the page, click on the email/envelope icon. A small dialog box will appear. Please enter your first name, last name and your email address and click Save. You are now subscribed to the calendar. If/when you need to unsubscribe to calendar, an Unsubscribe link is available in each email that you receive from the system.
Third, we will continue to provide an Interscholastic master calendar that summarizes all of the activities from the individual calendars. Please note: due to technical limitations, you will no longer be able to subscribe to this master calendar. If you currently subscribe to this calendar, once the new calendars go live on 11/9, you will no longer receive updates unless you re-subscribe to individual calendars.
