Welcome to Room !02

Week of February 21, 2012

We are working on the comparative -er and -est endings. The children are working hard at remembering which words need to have the last consonant doubled before adding an ending. It is good practice for us. The class is also working on the ending -dge. We are finding interesting words with this ending.

The children are finishing up the chapter on place value. We will continue to review this very important topic. Money will be our next topic. This work is very interesting and important to all of us.

We will be discussing Lent this week. The children will be thinking of ways we can prepare ourselves for Easter. Sharing their ideas can be helpful to others.

The children enjoyed learning about our presidents. Some of us brought in books from home or libraries to share with us. We have learned some interesting facts.

Although you may have heard about the collection for baby Amelia Patterson, I promised to mention it in our news. If we bring in a $1.00 or more for this cause by Friday, we can have an out of uniform day on Friday, February 24th.

Thanks to everyone for a great Valentines Day celebration. The Room Moms did a wonderful job. We appreciate all their hard work.

Have a good week.
