RELIGION
We will be studying the Mass-sacred vessels,linens,vestments-taking a tour of the church,sanctuary-all of it including the sacristy.Then we will learn how to pray the Mass and why it is the most powerful prayer on earth.
Also,we need to understand the importance of going to Mass and the graces in receiving the Holy Eucharist.
We will begin this Mass unit the following week.

SPELLING.
There will be no more Spelling words or homework.

READING.
We will finish our novel next week and begin HONUS AND ME-a new novel.The mousehouses were fantastic.

ENGLISH
The students have finished writing in class their hero essays.They must be typed and are due May 14th.Their hero must NOT read them or help them in any way.It will be read to them in the classroom.Sign-up sheets are almost completed.So I can't wait for the hero essays to be read in class-it is always a moving experience.

MATH
 We will continue with long division and do daily lessons in Simple Solutions..
 


SOCIAL STUDIES
We have finished our units in our Social Studies book except celebrations and cultures which we will use for enrichmentt at the end of the year.The students will be finishing their reports in the computer lab on their Indian tribes.These reports will be placed in a binder to be displayed in one of our city libraries.
We are presently involved in THE GREAT MAIL RACE.It involves writing a letter to a Catholic School in the United States with details about our school,enclosed questionnaire on our school completed by the third grade students,and a questionnaire to be completed by their school and returned to us.The students wrote their letters and I am very grateful for the stamped envelopes you gave me to help us send these letters.In our classroom is a very large map of the USA where the students have marked their school's location.This week we will study those states and the students will work on a very creative graphic organizer on their state. in the classroom.They are very excited about this project.

SCIENCE
Ms.Rivera teaches both third grade Science classes on Monday,Tuesday,and Wednesday.Please contact Ms.Rivera regarding any questions related to Science.
