Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Below are the assignments to complete for today. I will choose (or let the students choose) one assignment to send to me via email each day. All other assignments can be turned into me when we come back to school (see below).
**Today – Take a picture of your favorite work item that you produced today (shamrock sheet, math facts page, character trait page, or screen shot or picture of your St. Patrick quiz from Catholic Brain), and email it to me at ldealba@stgileschool.org
Also, the Specials Teachers are assigning work to students. Please see specials teacher’s classroom websites links at the bottom of this lesson page.
First – watch/listen to the beautiful Irish Blessing song before you start your work today.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mWaoGn_jTY
Writing – Today you are going to complete the St. Patrick’s – 4 Things That Make You Lucky Sheet. Draw a picture of yourself in the middle and write/draw four things that make you lucky. For example, you are lucky to have a great family and an awesome 2nd grade teacher!!!
Spelling – Unit 5 – Week 1
I sent home a spelling word list and homework packet for you to work on throughout the week. We will not have a test on Friday!!! Please look through the spelling list and ask your parents if there are any words that you are unsure of the meaning so they can help you with the definitions. Only complete the pages assigned for the day.
Today, complete the worksheet where you are asked to pick 7 words from the spelling list, write the words on the lines, doodle a picture next to it, and write the leftover words below.
Learn Zillion Class Codes 2020 –
Reading – Today you are learning about character traits. A character trait is a personality characteristic that makes a person the way they are — for example: friendly, honest, kind, curious, creative, confident.
I am enrolling my students in the learnzillion.com program to assign online learning activities. Attached above please find your child’s enrollment/code information. If you are experiencing issues with enrolling your child in the program, just sign in as a guest to view the lesson. You can do this by going to learnzillion.com and in the search bar (top right) enter the code HU73585 and press the enter button. It will ask you to either sign in with your account information or to just sign in as a guest. I would suggest to just sign in as a guest at this time. Any lessons that I present this week will allow you to gain access to all lessons as a guest or view the lesson with the link below.
Go to the following link, watch the instructional video to understand more about a character’s personality traits. You will need to enter learning code: HU73585
https://learnzillion.com/assignments/HU73585/
You can then read the “Lost and Found” story (#5 Reading Character page) in your work packet sent home with students on Friday and then complete the pancake side of the page about character traits. I also want you to think about your own personal character traits and write three of them somewhere on that page. HINT – how other people would describe you. Happy Reading!
Math – Complete one of the math facts pages that I sent home in your work packet on Friday. You do not need to be timed. You have three but you can choose the one you want to do today!
Religion – Watch the St. Patrick video. After watching the video, take the quiz, and explore any games or learning opportunities for St. Patrick. Enjoy!

Science – Watch the Brain pop jr. video about “Winter” and take a hard or easy quiz, then play the games, and complete the learning activities.
