MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Memorial Day Parade!
Saint Giles School will march in the River Forest Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29.We hope that many students, parents, alums, and pets will join us as we march together to celebrate our school and market it to our surrounding community. The parade begins at 10 am on Division and Ashland and ends in Keystone Park.
Can you join us? If so, your child(ren) will receive an out of uniform pass from Mrs. Zver for the rest of the school year– what a great incentive!
Backpack Collection- Refugee Families
The St. Giles Student Council is sponsoring a Backpack Collection for the refugee families supported by the World Exodus Program. The students are responding to an in school field trip presented by World Exodus Program. The experience showed the students what it was like to be a refugee; someone forced to leave their country. The entire school responded by making letters of welcome for refugee families and now we want to do more. We want the letters of welcome to accompany school supplies, including classroom and indoor and outdoor recess materials. The students want to put their faith in action. The goal is for each classroom to collect a backpack filled with supplies. The welcome cards will be placed in the backpacks along with a photo of an entire classroom of students in welcoming poses. A checklist has been created for our classroom. In addition to this electronic checklist, each classroom will have a written checklist to help students keep track of their donations.
