Few St. Giles School traditions bring to life the spirit of our community better than our treasured 8th Grade Clapout. The Class of 2021 took their last lap around campus surrounded by handmade signs and the cheers and clapping of their fellow Lions – moms, dads, grandparents, teachers, and students of all grades – who lined the sidewalks to celebrate with “paw pride.”
In the evening, they celebrated graduation with their families, teachers and received their diplomas from Fr. Carl and Ms. Bigane, in St. Giles Church. Many happy and sad tears were shed by parents and graduates as they realized they were moving on from St. Giles School. Farewell speeches were given by valedictorian Sophia F. and co-salutatorians Anna B. and Megan G. – wishing their classmates good luck and reminding them of all the good times they shared.
Good luck to our graduates as they head off to these high schools in the fall:
DePaul College Prep
Oak Park and River Forest
Congratulations, graduates! We have faith in you, hope in your future, and send you off with great love from your St. Giles family.
