Participation points

PARTICIPATION POINTS

In order to ensure an optimal learning environment, participation points are awarded (per class) to each student based on simple criteria.

Students are given several opportunities to make better choices by consulting the ‘Wheel of (limited) Choices’ before facing consequences or disciplinary action (as established by school policy).

3 participation points are awarded (per class) as follows:

1 point = Following Instructions
1 point = Contribution (to class activity/discussion) & Collaboration (with other students)
1 point = Effort & Completing Work (classwork and homework)

Extra credit point –
An extra credit point (4/3) is awarded to any student who excels in all of the above, regardless of previous participation. Of course, students are not always ‘on their game’ during any given class session, so they are encouraged to try harder the next class.

We push the ‘reset’ button:
Each time class starts, students have a fresh start and an new opportunity to increase their daily score for participation and influence the overall average of their grade in Spanish class. OLE!!!
