We wrapped up our chapter on time.

Phonics – ow; in words that end in a consonant + le, the last 3 letters usually make up the last syllable

Religion – The Holy Sprit & St. Catherine of Siena (Friday was her Feast Day)
Next Week – May is the month of Mary and Monday is May Crowning. Therefore, we will spend next week focusing on our Blessed Mother.
Science – We’re wrapping up our plant unit. We’ve learned about the different parts of a plant and how each of those parts help the plant to get what it needs in order to survive. Our potato plants are beginning to sprout – everyone is very excited! During Library, we’ve listened to several interesting books about seeds and plants, including folk tales, tall tales, and non-fiction.
Next – We will do our final plant activities and then introduce our unit on animals. More info to come soon…
Social Studies – The students learned about American monuments. They also began doing some research on monuments or landmarks of their choice. They’ve started “building” their monuments/landmarks in computer class.
Next Week – Students will finish up their research and complete their graphic organizers.
