Students will be learning vocabulary related to food, family, gatherings.

Students are currently learning how to order in a restaurant (in Spanish), featuring basic vocabulary, such as: table items/talk (i.e. Pass me the salt, please. / Pasame la sal, por favor.) – The Foreign Languages for Kids (FLFK) method is being used for this purpose, as well as others.
Note: Most of the work is completed in class.
CURRENT OBJECTIVES (10/9-10/19): Students will be able to introduce a friend or family member and provide some basic information. Students being introduced will be able to respond with an appropriate greeting.
HOMEWORK for week of October 15th:
Bring in a photograph of a family member (alternative = draw a picture) and write a caption under it indicating who the person is.
Example: Ella es mi hermana, Maria.
SPEAKING QUIZ (week of October 15th):
Take turns introducing your classmates to one another.
Take turns greeting each other.
Extra credit – Ask a question with ‘Te gusta?’

- Write 10 words in Spanish of classroom objects (with their English equivalents).
- Categorize words according to gender.

4TH GRADE:
Although 4th grade is not being tested next week, students can get a head start by reviewing vocabulary (listed above).
