This week is ELA we will be having a Christmas Theme Review Week. We will be reviewing short vowels, long vowel (CVC-e), contractions, nouns, verbs, inflected endings, sight words, digraphs, and blends
WRITING:

This week in Math we will be having a Christmas Theme Review Week. We will be review adding and subtraction numbers 0-20.
RELIGION:
This week in Religion we will be continuing our discussion on Advent.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT:
Students will be participating in the School Christmas Pageant on Tuesday December 18th at 6:30pm in the Church. Drop Students off in their classroom at 6:05pm no later than 6:10pm. First grade is the opening performance.
CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD:
Students will participate in Christmas Around the World on Wednesday December 19th 9:20-10:50am. Students will travel to different countries to learn about different Christmas Traditions from around the world. Students will carry a passport with them to each country to get a stamp from where they have gone. These passports will come home over Christmas Break with the intent of sparking some conversations over the holidays connecting what traditions were learned at school verses what traditions you might do at home, cultural acceptance, what the Christmas Season is about, and much more!! Students will be out of uniform for this activity—please wear Christmas Colors/ Ugly Sweaters
POLAR EXPRESS:
Students have been working really hard on mastering 1st grade expectations which we have aligned with our School PBIS expectations. This week students will be given a Golden Train Ticket to earn a ride on the Polar Express Thursday December 20th. Students will receive a punch in their ticket for acts of kindness, expected behavior in the hall, classroom, church, and during transitions. If student receives 4 or more punches in their ticket they will be able to turn in their ticket Thursday for one entry onto the Polar Express, where they will be able to come out of uniform in their Winter Pajamas (no slippers, make sure it is outdoor recess friendly and school appropriate) and enjoy the polar express movie while being served a cookie with hot chocolate.ALL ABOARD THE POLAR EXPRESS!!
