Spelling-There will be Spelling this week. There will be NO Challenge words this week due to a short week. The students will receive a typed Spelling list and I encourage parents to read the letter in your student’s homework folder on how to log onto Spelling City in order to practice their Spelling Words. REGULAR LIST-coach,blow,float,hold,sew,though,sold,soap,row,own,both,most,tomorrow,program CHALLENGE LIST- NO CHALLENGE WORDS THIS WEEK. THE LIST IS TAKEN FROM GRANDMA’S RECORDS.
English-Our class will continue studying their new unit on nouns.
Reading-The students will begin their new basal story-GRANDMA’S RECORDS. This week the students will continue to focus on the reading skill of sequencing author’s point of view and author’s purpose. Please have your children bring post it notes to school to use for other types of Graphic Organizers during reading THIS WEEK. The students will be working on written constructed responses to cite evidence from the text to support their answers-important Common Core Standard.
Math-The students will focus on using models to add, adding three and four digit numbers.
Science- Both third grade classes with continue to learn about how scientists use technology.
