Reading – The students will be learning about expository text, reading words with the long a sound, action verbs, and contractions with “s, ‘re, ‘ll, and ‘ve.
Spelling – There will be a Spelling Pre-Test on Monday, a Spelling packet due, and a Spelling test on Friday.
Math – The students will be learning about place value, to relate hundreds, tens, and ones, to read, write, and model numbers to 999.
Social Studies – The students will be learning about the National Government, the Constitution, Congress, Supreme Court, and our Representatives.
Science – The students will be collecting data and investing how objects sink and float as well as exploring different ways matter can change. They will also be learning what matter is and considering various ways to change the properties of matter.
Religion – The students will be learning about conscience, sin, goodness, free will, and about ways to celebrate God’s kindness and forgiveness.
Friday, 12/6 – Nutcracker Play field trip to Dominican University and STEM project is due today. The students are expected to bring a morning snack and lunch today. They will be eating lunch before going on the field trip.
Friday 12/13 – Christmas Around the World celebration at school for the Kindergarten, First, and Second graders.
Wednesday 12/17 – Christmas Pageant at 6:30 PM. The students should report to their classrooms at 6:00 PM. The First and Second graders will be singing – “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth” — “I want a hippopotamus for Christmas” — “Joy to the World” songs.
