eLearning Assignments for Monday 3/23/20

PLEASE READ! Virtual Math Activity Monday 3/23 & Tuesday 3/24: Here is a link to the sign-up doc if you’re interested in practicing adding and subtracting fractions with me and a small group of classmates using Zoom video chat! The video chat sessions will be held during the afternoons of Monday 3/23 and Tuesday 3/24. The directions for signing up and how to participate is in the sign-up doc. Math: Today, we will review adding & subtracting like fractions by completing the Check My Progress workbook pages 585-586. This is an OPEN BOOK assignment that will be graded for correct answers.  Due to this, please feel free to use your book and videos from last week for support! I am also available to answer question via email! Please take a photo of both pages and submit the photos via email by the end of the day to Mrs. Marske: amarske@stgileschool.org.

Religion: You will begin learning about the third Cardinal Virtue today. Watch the attached video link on “Temperance”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6jSaaNVvVQ  On looseleaf paper, answer the following questions in at least 6 sentences: “What is temperance? Write about a time that you have shown temperance at home or at school. Be detailed and give examples. Please take a photo of the sheet and submit the photo via email by the end of the day to Mrs. Marske: amarske@stgileschool.org

Social Studies: Today, you will begin exploring the states in the Western region of the U.S.! The Western states are: Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Hawaii, & Alaska! To start exploring, please go to the following link https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/explore/states/to read some facts about each of these states.  No need to read everything, just have fun exploring and learning new facts! No submission required.

Vocabulary (Replacing grammar today): Please complete workbook pgs. 134 and 135. Remember, you can always flip back to the definition pages for support! Please take a photo of both pages and submit the photos via email by the end of the day to Mrs. Marske: amarske@stgileschool.org.

African Music, Movement, & Art – Music, P.E., & Art – Grades 3rd, 4th, 5th
 
Take a movement and explore the African culture.  Students are required to complete ONE assignment of their choice below and email it to the teacher when completed.  (Students may view all of the assignments as they will be a lot of fun!)
If you can’t make the Zoom meeting, don’t fret, the sessions will be recorded and posted as well.
