Reading/ELA/Phonics – The students will be learning about expository text, cause and effect, helping verbs, inflected endings, and r-controlled vowels.
Spelling – There will be a spelling pre-test on Tuesday, spelling packet due Friday, and a spelling test on Friday.
High Frequency Words This Week: animal, away, building, found, from, Saturday, thought, today, toward, watch
Math – The students will be learning to count coins – pennies, nickels, and quarters.
Science – The students will continue to learn about the properties of matter.
Social Studies – The students are preparing for their Living Wax Museum presentations on Thursday. Parents are invited to come visit from 9:30 – 10:45. Both classes will be in Corrigan Room 100 this year.
Religion – The students will be reviewing Chapter 3 this week.
Living Wax Museum Projects:
The poster is due Thursday, 2/20, but students can bring it in any day this week. We will be practicing presentations in class this week. The students should have a copy of their typed paper glued to their posters along with any decorations, photos, drawings, quotes, facts, etc. Parents are encouraged to attend the event from 9:30 – 10:45 AM in Corrigan Room 100. We will be set up as early as 9:00 AM if you need to attend earlier in the morning. Students should come to school on Thursday, 2/20 dressed as their characters bringing any props, etc. Thanks for your continued support at home.
