Happy Monday Students:
You might want to keep all of your work in a folder, so you can turn it in when we return to school. It would be helpful to keep a notebook for their assignments. They can use one notebook for all subjects. I am trying to provide learning activities where students can use notebooks to complete their work to reduce the amount of printing they have to do.
I am taking attendance based on work participation for the day. Please let me know if you have any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org. Have a blessed day!
The specials assignments for the week are listed at the bottom of my daily assignments today. Please email the specials teachers if you have questions related to their homework assignments. Thanks.
We can start off with our morning prayer today:
Lord, You light the way for us.
Help us to build Your kingdom by showing compassion towards others,
kindness to those who may only know Your love through us,
gentleness that we may never do harm to one another, and
patience that we make time to listen and forgive.
Let us shed Your light wherever we go and give witness to You.
We ask for all of these gifts in Your Holy name, Amen.
For Religion, I hope you enjoy the song this morning. Think of ways or times when you feel closest to Jesus and God.
Write about your weekend, draw a picture, and put the date at the top of your page. You can use any notebook paper.
Spelling – We will not have spelling pre-tests or tests. The students will be completing learning activities with their spelling words each week.
Here are the spelling words for this week. Write them in rainbow colors in your notebook or on a piece of paper and save them in a folder for today.
Reading Log – Starting this week, students are to keep a reading log (Monday – Friday). Take a picture of the reading log, and email it to me on Fridays. Students are expected to read at least 20 minutes each day. You can read a book from home or an online book. I am attaching the reading log so you can keep track of the title, author, date read, and minutes spent reading. You can use the same reading log for 15 days.
Reading/Science – Read about storms and find the main idea and three details from the story. You can take a picture of this and email it to me today. If you don’t want to print, just write the answer and three details, take a picture, and email it to me for reading/science grades.
Language Arts – Today you will be doing “morning work”. You don’t have to print this out. You can just write the answers on a piece of paper or in a notebook. Make sure to put the date on it.
Math – We are starting Chapter 10 in math learning about telling time. First, complete pages 585 – 586 – Am I Ready and Math Review, next cut out the Vocabulary Cards on pages 587 – 590, then do the foldables on pages 591 – 592 in your Math Book. You can keep the vocabulary words and foldables in a small ziplock sandwich bag or in a notebook to use during Chapter 10. Finally, you can complete lesson 1 (telling time to the hour) plus the homework pages 593-602 today.
