A Recap of Our Week & A Glimpse Into Next Week
We finished up learning about Place Value in math this week by exploring the symbols > (Greater Than), < (Less Than) and = Equal. Students are not only learning how to read and correctly utilize these symbols, they are also working on understanding why some numbers are greater or less than other numbers. It is not merely because of where they are located on a number line. The number 63, for example, is more than 41 because 63 has 6 tens while 41 only has 4 tens. (Students who were ready, also learnd about hundreds and thousands.)
We will continue review and take the Chapter 5 test this week. We will then
Spelling lists were made up of words that had comparative endings -er and -est; when comparing 2 things, -er is used; when comparing 3 things, est is used. For example – big, bigger OR big, bigger, biggest).
We will also learned about -dge. When a word ends in -dge, these 3 letters work together to make one sound – the sound of j).
