We’ve been celebrating the season of Easter during religion by learning about God’s special gift of love for us – the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is always with us, leading and guiding us.
We finished chapter 8 in math and took the chapter test. Next, we’ll move on from learning about Measurement and Time to learning about 2-Dimensional Shapes and Equal Shares. Important vocabulary will include two-dimensional shapes, side, vertex, , rectangle, square, trapezoid, triangle, circle.
Students learned about the vowel sound made by ow and about syllables in words that end in a consonant followed by le. Next, we’ll focus on the same vowel sound but in words that contain ou. We focused on character, setting, and plot to help with comprehension. Next, we’ll look at sequence as a tool for comprehension. High-Frequency Words will be door, love, should, wood.
For science, we’ve been monitoring (measuring and documenting) the growth of our potato plants. Next, we’ll continue learning about living systems by turning our focus to animals.
