Reading/Language Arts – This week is an assessment week over Unit 2.
Spelling – There will not be a spelling test or spelling homework packet this week. We will be reviewing spelling words from Unit 2.
Math – The students will be learning to re-write 2 digit subtraction problems, number sentences, and using addition to check their subtraction.
Science – The students will be investigating how the properties of some liquids and gases make them useful. They will also be learning how to describe and classify different kinds of materials by their observable properties.
Social Studies – The students will be learning about the three branches of government, state capitals, and borders.
Religion – The students will be learning about Reconciliation, giving thanks, and praise. The students will be making cards for the St. Giles School act of service for meal deliveries over the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Upcoming Events and News:
Friday, 11/22 – The students will be viewing the 8th grade play today at our school. Trimester 1 report cards will be going home with students today. If your child is absent on Friday, you can pick up his/her report card in the St. Giles School Office after noon on this day.
Tuesday – 11/26 – All School Thanksgiving Mass hosted by 2nd and 8th grade students. We will also be viewing the Fenwick HS Choral Concert in the church after Mass. The K-2nd grade Thanksgiving Feast will also be in the morning in the Corrigan Building. A note will be going home with students about what items to bring to school to share with schoolmates at the Thanksgiving Feast.
