Reading – The essential question for the week is How do friends depend on each other? The students are learning about Fantasy stories, visualization, statements and commands, and inflected endings s, es, ed, ing.
Spelling – There will be a spelling pre-test on Monday and a spelling test on Friday. There will only be one list this week. There will be a spelling homework packet due on Friday.
Math – The students are learning about addition properties, counting on, adding doubles, and near doubles. There will be nightly math homework Monday – Thursday each week. There will not be any homework this Wednesday due to Curriculum Night.
Handwriting – The students are learning to make shapes, sizes, spacing, and slants during their letter strokes.
Social Studies – The students are learning about communities around the world and about people in different countries.
Religion – The students are learning how people are welcome into our church and into our own classroom community.
Wednesday, 8/28 from 6:30 – 8:00 is Curriculum Night at St. Giles School.
Monday, 9/2 – No School – Labor Day
