6th Grade Math: We will begin working in chapter 1: “Expressions and Number Properties”. We will write and evaluate algebraic expressions. We will develop an understanding of the Commutative and Associative Properties. We will use these properties to show that expressions are equivalent.
7th Grade Math: We will review ordering integers, plotting points on the coordinate plane, and evaluating expressions using the order of operations before beginning Chapter 1: Integers. Then we will complete lessons one and two in chapter one: Integers and absolute value and adding integers.
Religion: We will begin chapter 1: “Revelation and Response”. We will share experiences of feeling God’s presence. We will learn how God called Abraham and Mary, and how they each responded. We look to both of them as models of great faith.
Other: We spent last week getting to know one another and meeting new friends and teachers. Students also reviewed school procedures and expectations, as well as becoming familiar with the new schedule.
