Week of June 1, 2020
Math – Remember that the Geometry vocabulary assignment is due today. You also have a Quizizz ti complete on Geometry. Check the homework page for the code/more info.
Fourth Science – You have a chance to present your animal project either Monday or Tuesday. You will watch a video on adaptations and answer some questions. Details are on my homework page.
Fifth Science – We are ALL DONE with science!! Please make sure you turn in any missing assignments.
Week of May 24, 2020
Math – We are going to end the year with something different – Geometry!!! This week we will study quadrilaterals.
Fourth Science – This week we will have Science on Thursday. We will be finishing up Topic 7 on plant and animal structures. Your animal projects are due THURSDAY!!
Fifth Science – This week we will have Science on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will continue with Topic 8 on energy and food.
Week of May 18, 2020
Math – We are going to end the year with something different – Geometry!!! This week we will study polygons and triangles
Fourth Science – This week we will have Science on Monday and Thursday. We will be finishing up Topic 7 on plant and animal structures. I will introduce a project related to animal structures!
Fifth Science – This week we will have Science on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will be looking at Topic 8 on energy and food.
Week of May 4, 2020 – Due to professional development on Wednesday, there will be no new assignments that day. However there will be review and ongoing assignments Friday will once again be a catch-up day. Make sure you check the webpages of your other teachers. The link for the Specials teachers is here:
Math – We will begin multiplication of fractions, whole numbers, and mixed numbers. Please note that you MUST complete a minimum of 45 minutes in i-Ready in math each week. Due to the schedule this week, I have not designated one day for i-Ready. You can complete any time you wish, but please make sure you complete it by Friday.
Fourth Science – This week we will have Science on Mondays and Thursdays. We will continue with our study of plant and animal adaptations (Topic 7). We will be looking at animal structures. Don’t forget that you plant projects are due Tuesday, May 11.
Fifth Science – This week we will have Science on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will continue our study of Patterns in Space (Topic 7) by looking at the Earth’s rotation and revolution. I have synced Pearson Realize (our science series) and Google Classroom, so some of your assignments will come through Google Classroom. Hopefully this will make things easier. Also a reminder that the endangered animal reports are due Monday, May 4 (NO LATER than Tuesday) .

Tuesday – Write letters of thanks to first responders/veterans/health care workers

Thursday – Sports Day (Wear your favorite team jersey – St. Giles or otherwise)
Friday Community/Catch up Day
Math – We will continue our study of fractions in Volume Two. We will wrap up Chapter 8 and begin Chapter 9 on Addition and Subtraction of Fractions. There are some really great math videos out there if you get stuck. I will have you look at one on Tuesday but feel free to explore on your own as well! Don’t forget to complete your i-Ready lessons as well.
Fifth Science – We will continue looking at Topic 6 on the Solar System by working on the planet projects. I will have you watch a video on Monday to get you started! Otherwise keep working on the project! I had a few questions about how many slides you should have and I recommend 5-7 slides. You don’t want everything on its own slide, but you don’t want to cram everything together either. As always let me know if you have questions or need help. Our Zoom meeting will be on Wednesday.
Fourth Science – We will wrap up our study of the Human Body and begin our study of Topic 7 on plant and animal adaptations. Our Zoom meeting will be on Thursday.

Fourth Science – We will continue our study of the Human Body. We will review bones and muscles as well as look at sensory organs.
