At this time, only limited participation is available for our clubs, band & choir.

Band will not be offered at school during the school day. Students in 4th - 8th grade interested in band lessons and participation this year are asked to contact our director, Bob Gloppen for information regarding remote instruction after school.

Ambassadors

A club for 7th & 8th graders, members serve their school as ambassadors at various school events throughout the year. They provide tours to alumni at reunions, escort guests on Grandparents’ Day and serve as peer leaders at school. Ambassadors assist with middle school events during the school year and during Catholic Schools Week. These peer leaders serve as role models for our younger Lions.

Students apply for this club in the Fall and meet monthly. This Club is moderated by school staff.

Girls on The Run

Moderated by school counselor, Monica Lechowicz. Girls on the Run is our program that encourages girls to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others. Each season, girls gain a better understanding of who they are and what's important to them, the value of teamwork and healthy relationships and how they can have a positive impact on the world. Physical activity is woven into the program to inspire an appreciation for fitness and healthy habits and teach life skills including treating others with care, practicing gratitude and managing emotions. Each season culminates with a Girls on the Run 5K event.

About the Band Program

Over the years, St. Giles has offered individual instrument and group band lessons, via independent contractors, during the school day. Due to COVID, those in-person lessons ended but many resumed via Zoom. Given the difficulty of in-person lessons with continued COVID protocols and our concerns regarding interruption of instructional time for individual lessons, instrument and band lessons will move to either before school, 7:30 am - 8:00 am or after school.

We are currently working with our previous band instructors to formulate their schedule and to resume offering lessons and a band program. As soon as those details are finalized, we will share registration information with families. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to bring back our extracurriculars as quickly, but safely, as possible.
